| Wadebridge is a market town in
north Cornwall alongside the River Camel. Known originally as Wade,
a bridge was built across the River Camel in 1468 and the town then
became known as Wadebridge, the bridge has since been extended and
widened. From here you can cycle or walk the Camel Trail to Padstow.
The granite stone to rebuilt Eddystone Lighthouse in the 1880's
was brought to Wadebridge where stone masons dovetailed the segments
of stone and when completed were shipped out to Eddystone rocks,
where the lighthouse was completed.
