| Tintagel on the north coast of
Cornwall is famous for its assocation with the legend of King Arthur
and the Knights of the Round Table along with Tintagel Castle.

National Trust property. Dates from the 14th century when it was
a farmhouse, for a brief time it was a Post Office during the Victorian
period.
King Arthur's Halls
Built in the 1930s by Frederick Thomas Glasscock, it was originally
the headquarters for the Order of the Fellowship of the Knights
of the Round Table. Now a popular visitor centre for Arthurian enthusiasts.

Tintagel Island is joined to the mainland and faces the Atlantic.
On the mainland are the remains of this 13th century medieval castle
with steep stone steps, thick walls and rugged cliff edges which
encircle the great hall.
Merlin's Cave
Beneath Tintagel Castle only accessable from the beach at low tide.
St. Nectan's Glen
Woodland in Trethevy, on the Tintagel to Boscastle road is approx.
one mile long on both banks of the Trevillet River. The glen's prominent
feature is St. Nectar's Kieve, a sixty foot waterfall. Believed
to be a sacred site, ribbons, photo's, inscriptions and other objects
adorn the foliage and rock walls near the waterfall.
Tintagel Parish Church, St. Materiana
The exact date of the church is unknown but thought to be 11th or
early 12th century. Restoration work was carried out in the 1870's.
The tower has six bells, ranging in date from 1735 to 1945.
Beaches:
Trebarwith Strand
South of Tintagel, long stretch of sandy beach with plenty of rock
pools, popular with surfers. Lifeguards during summer months. Car
Park 5 minute walk from the beach. Toilets.
Bossiney Haven
A few minutes drive from Tintagel towards Boscastle. Large sandy
beach accessible only by footpath over farm land and steep man-made
steps down the cliffs. There are no facilities on the beach.

Crackington Haven on the north coast of Cornwall a few miles from
Boscastle was a small harbour importing goods from Wales. Ideal
for coastal and wooded valley walks.The beach is pebbly at high
tide, it reveals sand and rock pools at low tide, observe the zig-zag
rock formations formed millions of years ago, from black shale,
sandstone and quartz veins.
